Birthday Dinner for a Larger Group?

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some suggestions for a good place to go for my 30th birthday dinner. It'll be a group of about 10 people, on a Friday night in November. Ideally, I'm looking for someplace special, somewhere that feels like a treat, but with a vibe of relaxed elegance, if that makes sense. I'd like this to feel sort of like I'm hosting a dinner party at the restaurant, so anywhere that might have a private room or be able to work with me in advance on menu, wines, etc. would be great. I had my heart set on Craigie on Main, but they've informed me that they do not take reservations for parties larger than 6 people on weekend evenings. So now I'm at a loss. Can you help? Thanks so much for any and all suggestions!

Bistro du Midi on Boylston St in Boston has a private room the perfect size for 10. I ate there once when they first opened during restaurant week and I thought it was pretty good food-wise, but it did not blow me away either (but they did just open, and it was RW). There was a group in that private room and it looked very nice and they seemed to be throughly enjoying themselves.
