Has anyone seen quince, in any market, in the East Bay (preferably farmers' markets or independent/non-chain groceries)? Thank you!!
Thank you, everyone. I found them at Berkeley Bowl, priced well (about $2 per pound). They are exquisite. ;o)

Central Market on Appian in El Sobrante has them, Since they are owned by the Berkrlry Mi Tiera folks you might try there also.
Full Belly Farm has them and they are at the Berkeley FM on Tuesday afternoons.
Monterey Foods has some, $1.98/pound. In the "front" section of the main part of the store on the left as you walk in. They seemed a bit old, and were a mild flavored variety but cooked up OK.

Berkeley Bowl East had them yesterday (Sunday 10/24) at about $1.70 per pound as I recall. They looked great and had that wonderful quince smell. Signage indicated they are Californian.
Alameda Natural Grocery has some - organic - $3.49 lb.

Thought I'd seen some at the Berkeley Bowl West last weekend.
