Oyster deals/happy hours
Hi all,
Just moved to the Cape area and I am looking for the best oyster deals and happy hours. I have been to Embargo in Hyannis and I was not impressed with the tapas. I ordered Gambas de Ajillo and it tasted incredibly off, usually this is a home run tapa in most Spanish restaurants but this was positively awful. My fiance suggested that they might have added water to it, the dish didn't have the oily consistency, I couldn't even really taste the garlic either, odd. Good thing it was half price, I should have sent it back. They were out of oysters at the time, but they honored the deal later in the evening when they got more so they get some points in my book for that. Any other places offering cheap oysters and craft beer? Best oysters I have had so far, by the way, were at the Naked Oyster, amazing but expensive!!
Thanks!

I'd give Embargo another try. The Gambas is probably one of the worst dishes on the menu strangely enough. If you went at happy hour at least the experience only set you back $3 or so!
I like the mussels, short rib, scallop ceviche, cod tostadas, kobe sliders, salmon brushetta, and lamb lolipops, to name a few. All terrific.
The Oyster Company in Dennisport has its own beds so they often have specials. Check the CCTimes for coupons. Lately they are running a free 1/2 dozen special coupon.

Just gave Oyster Company another try after a bad experience this summer. Unfortunately the results were the same. We even asked the server if the oysters were opened to order and she assured us they were. Our first hint they were pre-shucked was the fact that although we each ordered a dozen they were served 6 to the plate( like CCG mentioned they are running coupons lately) . One quick look confirmed it. Oh well 2 strikes and you're out.
