Hey everyone,

Staying in Fremont on vacation for a few days... Seeing as I'm based in a tiny town, I'd like to do some shopping for pots and pans, appliances, and gadgets. Suggestions and pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Fremont is a bit out of my range, but there's a Sur Le Table at Town and Country Mall in Palo Alto, so far as I know about as good as it gets in the Bay Area for consumer cookware.

Wow, that fast fast :-) Thanks for the Palo Alto rec, I meet up with friends over there pretty regularly.

This is not in the South Bay but since you are on vacation and if you are headed towards Napa, I would recommend Shackford's Kitchen store - family owned - they have everything! (closed on Sundays)

The Costco Business Center in Hayward has a restaurant supply section. There's also M V Trading in Milpitas.

Bed, Bath & Beyond has a huge selection of kitchen gadgets.

If your visit coincides with one of the J. G. Bonilla auctions, you might check it out. http://www.jgbonillaauctions.com/html...

Depending on where you live, you might stop by the Le Creuset outlet in Gilroy or Vacaville.

What sort of cookware do you want? How much do you want to spend?

For moderately priced stuff, there's the enormous Great Mall in Milpitas. For the higher-end kitchen toys, as oldunc said, there's Sur la Table in Palo Alto's Town and Country Village as well as Williams Sonoma at the Stanford Mall.

            Happy shopping!

Not a lot of kitchen-oriented shops in the Great Mall of the Bay Area:

The choices may be rather scattered in this huge mall, but there's a Bed Bath & Beyond as well as a Corelle store, Marshall's, and several department stores.

Balblua, if you are looking for something specific, let us know, and someone on the board will almost certainly know where to find it.
