Had a plate of a dozen mixed oysters at Morel's in the Grove yesterday. They were terrific! But they should be when you pay $36 for them. Any recommendations for places that serve nice briny bivalves in the general vicinity of Pasadena/La Canada/Glendale at a price south of two bucks apiece?

  1. On the Westside, but a good deal nonetheless...

Westside Tavern had 6 Fanny Bay oysters for $13! They run out fast, so get there earlier than later in the evening.

    1. A bit farther away In Santa Monica Ocean Ave Seafood has it's Oyster Hour from 4 pm-6 pm. Monday through Friday, featuring oysters at $1.50 each and an "Oyster Wine Sampler" that includes six oysters with three 2-oz glasses of the restaurant's wines.

Thanks WM ! This definitely sounds worth a crosstown drive.
