Haven't done this in a long time...is there a big wait around 10am?

I have read (don't remember where) that each place has specific people who go to Acme and pick their fish - maybe also specify slightly different curing? - so thee are different styles sold at the different places.

Urban legend: tur or fals I leave to others.

It's the same as Russ & Daughters....all the good places get it from the same supplier, pretty much.

Thanks Scrabble - I figured that on Sunday mornings it's very busy.

People say over and over "it all comes from Acme" but it DOES taste different as prepared for the several more well known shops. No way the lox or nova at Russ and Daughters and at Zabars tastes the same. There are subtle and not very subtle differences.

Also never heard that BG had the best "lox" in NYC before. They are probably better with other fish. Lox and Nova there are O.K. but not their forte'.

i dont think they have the best lox in the city. i will say though that their sturgeon is the best i've ever had.

from these reviews it looks like it'll be packed.
I dont know if this will help but i went a few months ago at around 1-2 on a Tuesday and it was dead.

As of last week, there are crowds that form on the sidewalk even earlier than 10.
