What are some good coffee houses or cafes in Montreal? I would like to meet someone for coffee and possibly some breakfast in a centralized place/close to downtown and accessible by metro.

Right across from McGill Metro is Caffe Art Java. I've been getting my morning coffee there now for about a month and it's consistently pretty good including one of the best cups of filter coffee I've ever had. They have food too but all I've had are their muffins which are excellent. There's also Cafe Myriad Near Guy/Concordia. They're probably the best coffee house in town or at the very least in the top three. They have pastries and stuff but that's it food-wise.

There's a Premier Moisson on Sherbrooke at the base of Simpson, very near the Guy/Concordia metro. They have a nice seating area and lots of yummy pastries as well as coffee.

Burgers and Benedicts, across from Atwater metro is pretty reliably good for breakfast! Lots of choices as well.
