Large Curd Cottage Cheese?

I can't seem to find Large Curd anywhere....I've gone to Costco, Trader Joe's, Smart & Final, Mother's Market, Whole Foods Market, and even a local farmers market type grocery store and no such luck.

Does anyone know where Large Curd cottage cheese can be found in the LA/OC area?

I finally found it at Stater Bros. It's funny because I'd been on the hunt for the large curd for over 2 months and got so worked up over it. When I finally found the large curd and tried it (I'd only ever had small curd) I was expecting the heavens to part and the angels to start to sing, BUT, it was pretty much tasted just like small curd except just a bit bigger. Oh well, I guess that's what happens when one builds up this huge expectation level. hahaha

Depends on the brand and whether or not the manufacturer has used the common fillers like starch and various vegetable gums. I've developed a definite preference for large curd, full fat _or_ 2% C-cheese.
Here in the east we have the excellent FRIENDSHIP brand, which is made with none of the fillers that ruin the taste and texture. Once I tasted theirs, the big national brands became a lot less appealing.

Friendship cottage cheese is delicious, and I'm certain I've seen it here. Maybe Whole Foods?

Does Knudsen still make it? Used to come in blue boxes. It was my favorite. I buy it from Pavillions now, their store brand. I think it's Safeway Select. Pretty good, actually.

@Miri1, the store/house dairy brand at Pavilions & Vons is Lucerne...maybe you're thinking of Albertsons?

i agree that Friendship makes the best cottage cheese products across the board. i wish they could get their act together in terms of national distribution...or better yet, establish a farm and manufacturing facility on the West Coast :)

I buy it from Ralphs and Vons all the time. In fact, I just bought some yesterday. It's the Ralph's store brand one.

Stater Bros has it; look for the red, white, and blue 16 oz Stater Bros brand container. My husband eats it and says it's good.

Yep, agree with raizans--every time I have a taste for it (lately, that batch of 90 degree days), Vons has always had it (under the Lucerne label, the Safeway house brand), and it's actually quite good. Better still with a little pepper.

i've seen it at trader joe's, ralphs, vons, etc. not hard to find at all!
