Ad Hoc fried chicken: Vegan version?

I've been to Ad Hoc several times, always called ahead and said I was vegan, and always gotten an amazing meal with no attitude -- sometimes one that my omnivorous friends judged better than theirs.

I seem to recall them saying, one time I was there, that they do a vegan version of their famous fried chicken. I think I'm going to try it when some friends go for Fried Chicken Night next month. Has anyone had the vegan version? How is it?

I'll report back.

  1. That is really interesting info. For what it's worth, I've gone to TFL and one of my fellow diners ordered the veggie tasting menu...for some courses it was much, much better then the non-veggie. There was definitely no drop-off that's for sure and it probably was better then the standard. Sorry, no feedback on the vegan version.

    1. Given the 24-hour brining process of hte regular fried chicken...htis is very intruiging....

      1. I have to plead ignorance here, but what exactly do they prepare for vegans on fried chicken nights? They batter and fry something else as a chicken simulacrum, I take it?
