I'm more a fan of Blue Hill Stone Barns. The last time I went to Blue Hill in NYC, I thought the cooking was fine, but not particularly exciting.

I agree, go to Blue Hill Stone Barns. You won't regret it. Dinner was completely amazing.
I can't say enough about it. Go and enjoy.

I really like Stone Barns too but this poster might want to have dinnner in Manhattan. Also, I think Stone Barns is best in peak produce season.

Also, it gets dark so early at the end of November and it's a shame to miss some daylight, especially sunset time, at Stone Barns...

Anyway, I imagine it's too late to get a reservation at Stone Barns.

    2. it's a nice place, cozy and elegant. and the food isn't "bad" by any standard. but being in the city with so many other excellent options, the food itself just lacked "wow" factor by comparison, i guess.

i completely agree but i only ate at stone barns...very boring meal in my opinion...beautiful spot though.

      2. Six of us had dinner at Blue Hill a couple of months ago. It was, without question, the worst upscale meal we've had at any NYC restaurant. The only good things we ate were the bread and the butter. Terribly disappointing, and expensive. And, they give you such small portions . . . .

Actually, that is true, and ironic. World's smallest portions, perhaps if you finish the dish in two bites you don't realize how terribly ripped off you just were. Never again.

        1. I recently tried it with cat lady friend who is a big foodie. We thought it was just ok. Food wasn't wow enough to make us go back. Nice small restaurant tho.
