Best mussels in LA?
I've had pretty good mussels at Blue Plate Oysters (mussels with Thai red curry sauce) and Panzanella's (Italian style) in Sherman Oaks. I've also heard Firefly in the valley has good mussels, but haven't personally tried them. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

i always get the smoked mussels at santa monica seafood. numerous thai places (e.g., jitlada) have good steamed mussels in a garlic sauce. cafe stella in silver lake does some good french mussel dishes.

The Lazy Ox Canteen downtown has them w/homemade sriracha and french feta. They rock.

Actually, across from Panzanella is La Frite which has very good mussels (location also in Woodland Hills, btw). Also, Le Petit Restaurant and Mistral in sherman oaks.

Bouchon started my love affair with mussels, and nothing has come close. Morel's and Mr. Marcel's at Farmers Market / Grove are pretty good, and Le Petit Four on Sunset is great. Overall though Bouchon is by far the most amazing mussels I have ever had.
