One Day in Vegas

Mission:
I will be in Vegas tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. and am looking for an awesome breakfast and dinner

Breakfast:
I've had breakfast at Bouchon and liked it -- is there anywhere better?

Dinner:
As for dinner, I've researched Alex, Picasso, Joël Robuchon and also Guy Savoy. They all sound great... HOWEVER... I don't feel like paying a fortune for a trendy restaurant and big name who won't actually even be there. I am willing to pay good money for good food but am looking for some suggestions that are not so esoteric... I want to leave full and have eaten a great dessert too. I probably won't get another opportunity to be in Vegas for a while so please give me your best suggestions!

I just got back from Vegas and had a truly amazing breakfast at MOzen at Mandarin Oriental. The croque madame I ordered couldn't have been much better. It was a good classic croque: Sourdough toast, Serrano ham, Gruyère cheese, and Mornay sauce, all topped off with two sunny-side-up eggs. It came with choice of breakfast meat (chicken-apple sausage, turkey bacon, or regular sausage or bacon) and breakfast potatoes. The thing that stole the show were the eggs. These were, in a word, perfect. So good that they made me realize that until that point, I'd never had truly perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs before. Not that the other items in the sandwich were lacking; everything worked together in perfect harmony. And the service is truly extraordinary, something that Mandarin Oriental prides themselves on. Like Bouchon, breakfast is not cheap, about $30 per person, but it is oh so very worth it. While at Mandarin, head up to the Sky Lobby to at least drink in the view, it's beautiful up there. And if you want, stop in the Mandarin Bar for a drink. They make some terrific cocktails. At $20 a drink, they'd better be terrific, and they are, like MOzen, truly worth it.

I've got 4 breakfasts in Vegas - was thinking about MoZen for one of them - this sold me hook-line-and-sinker. :-)

Oh, also, according to everyone I've heard from, the club sandwich on the lunch menu at MOzen will change your life. Admittedly, half of the people I've heard from were the staff at MOzen, but such unanimous praise for a singular dish (and a club sandwich, at that) kinda makes you notice...
