Little Big Burger
I had the pleasure of stopping in at Micah Camden's new place in the Pearl, Little Big Burger.
It's a nice bright space on 10th right across from the Gerding Theater (the old Armory building).
The burgers a little bigger than a typical slider, but the patties are quite thick. They are served on a brioche bun with an assortment of cheese options. The burgers are cooked to medium, with a nice amount of pink in the middle. While I was there, someone did order one medium rare, so that's available for anyone who wants it. Overall, the burger was very good. I have always loved a good brioche bun, and the patties are seared on the outside but still pink in the middle. The next time I go I will definitely order two. Their website says the patties are 1/4 lb., but they seemed a bit smaller than that. I'm sure there will be some people who complain about the $3.75 price per burger, but even if you get two, that's only $7.50, and I've spent at least that much on plenty of other lesser burgers than this.
Then there were the fries. They use thin cut Yukon Gold potatoes and are double fried, so they are nice and crispy on the outside. They are then given a spritz of white truffle oil and tossed with sea salt. They are the best fries I have ever had. The truffle oil is used sparingly but imparts an addictive, earthy flavor. They use a house made ketchup that is also great. It has sriricha sauce in it (the spicy stuff with the rooster) that adds a nice kick and it is sweetened with honey. You can also buy a bottle of it to take home with you.
Overall, I was very pleased and I cannot wait to go back.
