puntarelle and cardoons (west side)

epop Oct 21, 2010 01:42 PM

Anyone know of a reliable market near the west side that regularly stocks
these greens? They should be at the farmers markets at this point, but
I didn't see them the last time I was there. Last year I didn't see any cardoons.

    I've never seen cardoons, either.

They had them at whole foods two years ago but they were always so dirty.

Not on the west side, but inland produce has them each year.
They are at sunland and glenoaks ( in sunland). Call before you go, for sure! 818 5046629

Elat Market on Pico and Wooster (1 block east of Robertson) has had cardoons for the past few weeks. Last year, Glatt Mart (right next door) had them so they might have them too now (I haven't looked).

now we're talking. Great. I was just in there and didn't even think to look for cardoons because for years I would ask for them and people said, Oh, not since in Iran...
