Restaurant suggstions Bronte (Oakville)

Hello All!

I am looking for a place in the Bronte (Oakville) area to host a dinner for after my wedding rehearsal. It is a Thurdady night and there will be about 20 people. My Fiance and I love pubs but are not limited to them. Neither of us live in the area so we were hoping you all could help us out with some suggestions! No seafood/thai/chinese.

Thanks!!

  1. Hi, specifically are you looking for Bronte Village? (like Lakeshore/Bronte area).

Are you looking for something upscale or casual?

I haven't been to too many restaurants in that area except for The Big Smoke (BBQ place) and the Thai place, but, since you said no thai, won't mention that one!

My recommendation would be to consider Cucci.. Italian food, I haven't been personally but heard good things from others.

They have a section for "group" menus but there is nothing listed there. You might want to call them to see what they could organize for you since I think their regular menu might be a bit pricey.

    1. If you like pubs then I suggest the best pub by far is the Coach and Four on the south side of lakeshore just east of Bronte. They have great food but can get busy.

      1. Have a look at Twisted Fork. I have not been there in a few years but last time we were there, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Open kitchen that serves slightly upscale fare at a reasonable price.

For ambience, there is a restaurant on the lake near Bronte Harbour. For the life of me... cannot remember the name.

I'd stay away from Stoneboats. Found this spot overpriced, loud with underwhelming food.

Isn't Stoneboats the restaurant on the Lake at Bronte Harbour? That is the only one I can think of that is closest to the lake but I am guessing you are thinking of something else since you said to avoid it.

In Burlington on the Lake is Spencers... But, from my knowledge there is no restaurant "on the lake" in Bronte... Oh wait, I think I know what you are talking about. The one at the actual marina? The Lighthouse?? http://www.harbourbanquet.ca/restaura...

Twisted Fork is a good suggestion. There is also a place run by a nice French couple - La Parisienne which is located near Twisted Fork, close to Lakeshore Rd. It has a wide variety of crepes (savoury & sweet) and has a nice atmosphere although service can be a bit slow at times.

Thanks ylsf - the Lighthouse is the restaurant on the lake that I was thinking about. Not a bad place to nosh on the patio in the summer but not a place I'd seek out for special dinner.
