Looking for Lunch near Astor Place

I just started a new job just south of Astor place on Lafayette and I'm looking for a place to go to lunch on the days where I actually have time to leave my desk. I'm looking for any kind of cuisine, though I am sort of a snob when it comes to Chinese food having grown up with a mother who cooks traditional chinese and going to Dim Sum every sunday in Chinatown.

I'd like to be able to get away for under $10, but if the quality is there, maybe I'll treat myself to a higher price point every now and again.

I know a lot of thread already exist for NYU students looking for lunch spots, but I'm not looking to have pizza or burgers (unless they're very well made).

Thanks for your help!

Add Ramen Setagaya and Men Kui Tei to your list. Where do you go for dim sum in Chinatown?

Wait what? Grand Sichuan "could be the best Chinese restaurant." What are you smoking? Where else have you ate? And if Young Eats digs Dim Sum, which is Canto, maybe a reference more along those lines would be more appropriate than Sichuan food?

I like Cafe Orlin on St. Marks.
