Suggestions on where to throw a casual 70th birthday in the mid-cities/Fort Worth area???
HELP!!!! I need to find a place to throw my dad's 70 th birthday party. We are planning on hosting (paying for) about 30-40 people.
Here are some of the criteria that we would love to fulfill:
- Some of the guests are from out of town so we want to have it a place that is unique to the area.
- Casual place but with a private room or area
- Buffett option because we want movement in the room, and not a stuffy sitdown plated dinner.
Any Suggestions???
THANKS In advance for your help!!!!

Lupe's Tex Mex in Bedford (SE corner Central @ 183) might be able to help you. I think I recall seeing on their menu that they do catering. While they don't have a separate room, their dining area is compartmentalized which may work for you. http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/13/165691/restaurant/Lupes-Tex-Mex-Grill-Bedford
Saviano's Italian in Euless (N. Main just north of 183) definitely does buffets for parties in a private room/area. http://savianosrestaurant.com/
If you're considering BBQ, the Feedstore in Southlake is the best in the area. They are on White Chapel Blvd south of Southlake Blvd. They have a private room that is open for anyone, but with the number of people you have, I imagine they would close it for your use.
Don't know if it would suit you or if they would even do a buffet for you, but Yucatan Taco Stand has a great menu. They are also in Southlake on Southlake Blvd, just east of 114. http://www.yucatantacostand1.com/
I enjoy all of these, but you can google any/all of these, to find many additional reviews on each.
If you plan to get a cake, check with Creative Memories on Pipeline, east of Precinct Line. If you would like a variety, they have delicious petite fours - moist and dense, small crumb cake, rich and creamy glace icing.
