Near Newton Wellesley Hospital

I will be starting to spend 1-2 days per week at my office at Newton Wellesley Hospital and was wondering if there was anything Choworthy for lunch at a decent distance? I'm hoping there is something to hold me over for a couple lunches a week.

  1. how about blue ribbon bbq? i googled mapped it and the w. newton location is only 1.4 miles from NWH.

    1. Up Route 16 just across the river in Wellesley there is an adequate sandwich place that used to be called The Riverview Cafe, plus C.K.'s Shanghai which gets mixed reviews here. Moody Street in Waltham isn't all that far and has plenty of lunch options, including Franco's Pizza (on the Newton side of the line), Mi Tierra (Salvadoran), and a little farther off two good Mexican joints: Taqueria Mexico on Charles Street and Taqueria El Amigo on Willow.

      Taqueria El Amigo
196 Willow St, Waltham, MA 02453

      Taqueria Mexico
24 Charles St, Waltham, MA 02453

      Mi Tierra Restaurant
585 Moody St, Waltham, MA 02453

      Franco's Pizza
889 Dyer Ave, Cranston, RI 02920

      1. Oh, and the lunch buffet at Singh's Cafe in Wellesley is definitely chow-worthy.

        1. Barry's Village Deli in Waban is very close to there. Perhaps my favorite deli in the Boston area.

2nd Barry's. Also Tutto Italiano in Wellesley. The breakfast at Captain Marden's is underrated as well. Take advantage of the time at lunch one day to hit Wasick's in Wellesley to sample and stock up on great cheeses.

          2. Thanks to all, I cant believe I didnt remember Blue Ribbon. All the other recs look great also.
