Bahamas - Everywhere!

Hi,
I'll be island-hopping in the Bahamas this fall/winter on assignment for a travel guidebook, and am hoping to find out about the best places to eat, from glitzy celebrity chef-run restaurants on Paradise Island to low-key Bahamian takeout joints on the Out Islands. I'm also looking for tips on good bars.

My itinerary looks something like this: Freeport/Grand Bahama-Abacos-Nassau/Paradise Island-Eleuthera-Andros-Berry Islands-Biminis.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Not sure if you have already been, but here are suggestions for Nassau:

    Cafe Matisse (downtown)
Beach Club Cafe (West Bay Street)
    Traveller's Rest (West Bay Street)
    Brussel's Bistro (downtown)
    Dune (PI)
    Mesa Grill (PI)
    Awarak Cay (Fish Fry)
Potter's Cay (under bridge from PI)
Bamboo Shack (Take out on Grand Bahama and New Providence/Nassau)
August Moon (WEST West Bay St - near Lyford Cay)
Green Parrot (Nassau downtown, Nassau Bay Street between downtown & PI, PI)

For more detailed descriptions, check some of my other posts. :-)

+1 for Cafe Matisse (fine dining - sit on the back patio if the weather is warm enough), Beach Club Cafe (fabulous setting right on the water), Traveller's Rest (very casual - go when they have live music), Dune ($$$ and excellent), Awarak Cay (great fresh conch) ... stay away from Compass Point unless it's just for cocktails (great setting horrendous food)
