NJ-quality pizza/breakfast sandwiches in the Nashua area?
My fiancee and I just recently moved to Nashua from New Jersey, and we are really missing the breakfast sandwiches and pizza. We've been slowly searching out and trying new places, and have found one or two passable substitutions, but would love to hear that we have some good options that we haven't found yet.
So far, our favorite pizza has been at Pizzico, although I would rate it a 3.5/5 at most. As for breakfast sandwiches, we have found Hot Rize in Amherst to be OK, but were appalled when they put our sandwiches in the microwave(!). Good bagels there however. Our new favorite has been Bonhoeffer's Cafe on Franklin St. in Nashua, but we're still looking for our nostalgia fix.
Any suggestions would be great!
I moved up here from CT, so I've been looking for a lot of the things you are trying to find. I'm used to the usual Greek diners that are a dime a dozen down there, but no luck really.
Have you tried the Sausage King yet? They might have something that you'd enjoy. I can't really find the pizza I'm looking for, but people have recommended Johnny Troy's in Manchester on here and I finally tried it. I thought it was pretty good for here, the sauce was not sweet like most places, so I really liked that.
I have found Taylor Ham at Stop & Shop before, so if you are looking for that, at least you can cook breakfast at home!
PS...nice screen name...
I too am a NJ transplant living in Nashua so I feel your pain. Honestly forget about good bagels - not going to find them here. Bagel Alley looked promising but no dice. I've found that Pizzico is about as close as you're going to get to NJ/Y pizza.
As far as breakfast sandwiches are concerned you're never going to get a porkroll, egg and cheese on a kaiser roll here.
Sorry to be a Debbie-downer but that's just what I've found. If you find something great out there, please share!
oof, thats not very promising. I have to say, the bagels at Hot Rize in Merrimack surprised me, so you may want to check them out. The pizza I can deal with, as Pizzico really isn't too bad, but there has to be somewhere around here that actually makes a decent breakfast sandwich though.
