It's run by a nice guy from Ghana, the food is homestyle and tasty. I used to live down the street from it and got take-out many times.
They regularly have Jaloff rice, goat stew, moi moi (blackeyed pea pudding/cake), dodo / plantain, stewed fish. They have fufu (pounded yam or cassava, a staple starch stew vehicle - which I'm not a big fan of).
Every now and then have egusi (soup made from squash seeds - which I haven't tried either).
Service is very very slow, but the guy is nice enough. They serve Star beer you can sip up at the "bar" (looks like it used to be a sushi bar). Like I said, the food is homey and tasty, though sometimes the goat can be tough and dry, other times it tastes tender and flaky and delicious.
They also (as of last year) started selling Caribbean food (rotis and such), but I haven't tried it.

isn't the owner from nigeria?
they keep odd hours but the food is pretty good. i like the suya (grilled beef sticks), moi moi (black eyed pea pudding), goat stew, jollof rice, and dodo (fried plantains). they also have a list of specials such as stockfish (supposedly flown in from norway) and egusi (melon seed soup). i didn't care for the fufu either

We went a year or more ago and, unfortunately, the bathroom was quite dirty. The police station across the way probably has an available one, if need be. Hopefully, that ws just a one time thing!

Oh, and you can get your ice cream on and your candlepin bowling on across the street at Ron's!
So, some people make a huge deal about Ron's ice cream (and I've seen several claims that it was voted "the best" in the country), but I'm not sure. It's tasty, and it's ice cream, but I certainly wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had.
