One night in Miami and looking for great food - Myles Restaurant Groups look interesting or GREAT sushi?

We have one night in Miami and I'm looking for somewhere with great food. The Myles Restaurant Group restaurants look interesting (Shoji, Big Pink, Nemo, Prime Italian and Prime One Twelve). Are any of these worth the visit? Also up for exceptional sushi or other recommendations (want a nice casual environment but more about the food than the scene).

I've never been to Prime 112 but it's more about the scene than the steaks (though people like the side dishes). Shoji was once a great sushi place several years ago but qualitiy took a real nose dive when the original chef left and I've not been back in some time. Big Pink is very casual and very inconsistent. Nemo also was once a great restaurant (when Michael Schwartz was the chef) but has been treading water for some time and closed over the summer, supposedly for a remodeling.

It would be helpful if you were more specific as to geography. All of the Myles Chefetz places are on South Beach, and if you want to limit your options to South Beach then that will get you a different set of suggestions than if you're going to be somewhere else (or are willing to travel some).

For instance, if you really want excellent sushi there is none better in Miami than at Naoe in Sunny Isles. All dining is omakase style - a bento box with several items, followed by a procession of the chef's choice of nigiri.

We're at the Intercontinental so thinking in that neighborhood or South Beach.

Near the Intercontinental, there's Zuma and Area 31 in the Epic building. IlGabbiano is very good but expensive. Miami Chophouse is across the street and is good. For more neighborhood type places, there's Fratelli Milano and Ceviche 105.

Zuma actually looked good, but I think the team wants to do SoBe. Any thoughts there as Shoji gets somewhat panned. I've eaten at Sushisamba a year or so ago and while good didn't think it was great. Bond Street or other recommendations? We had Italian last night is why we're not going to try MGFD.

I used to love shoji but i think its gone seriously downhill and I hate to say it but the last two times I was there I saw a 4 legged insect the size of my big toe on/under the sushi bar. While I have no disillusions about restaurants and bugs, theres something about seeing a bug in a dining room of a sushi restaurant. needless to say i no longer patronize shoji. If you must be on south beach for sushi, i would say bond street is your best bet. I dont adore sushisamba either and only go there with friends for drinks and a snack. Bond St is really the best of the lot. Zuma is also delicious although I understand you would like to be on the beach. Ans the best, in my opinion is matsuri, but thats waaaaay off your path

Bond St. is probably the best of the sushi options on South Beach but sushi is generally not a strong suit there.

Not going to MGF&D because you had Italian makes no sense to me at all (it is not remotely Italian even if they do typically have one pizza and one pasta on the menu), but whatever.

Frodnesor - just glanced at MGF&D so thought it was Italian. Also the team wanted to go to SoBe. We ended up at Prime 112 per a friend's recommendation. I was expecting a pretty mediocre meal since my friend is all about the scene and not about the food. We actually had a great meal. Ahi poke was incredible and then we had steaks, mac n cheese and onion rings all flavorful and perfectly cooked. The deep fried oreos weren't too shabby either. A nice surprise as I've typically been underwhelmed by SoBe restaurants.
