One Night in Laconia

Free for dinner with some friends on a Thursday evening. Tried "O" last year. It was ok, but I was not particularly impressed. I was thinking of trying either Tavern 27 or Fratella's. Anybody have any insights about these places, or suggestions for an alternative? Thanks

I vote for Tavern 27, see my recent post - loved it, can't wait to go back. Very nice ambiance too.

Thanks Lex. It was your review that turned me on to Tavern 27 to start with. Some of my pals are sort of meat and potatos / red sauce Italian types, so I was thinking of Fratello's as a backup suggestion. Worth considering?

I wouldn't consider it. It's not terrible, just unremarkable. If you end up there, you'd probably have a good time with your friends, and not feel bad about spending your money to eat there, but I wouldn't make a special trip to be able to eat there.

I like Fratello's but wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, it's only if it was invited or just very convenient. I would do Tavern 27 or Ellicoya Bar and Grill if you are close to Gilford (awesome burgers, great menu and very comfortable "hang with friends" type place.

Oh, just realized that you most likely went somewhere last night.

Actually planning on next week. So if my friends prefer big portions of "conventional" food, Fratello's is as good an option as any in Laconia? Thanks Lex

I just realized Gilford is pretty close to where we are staying. Better choice than Fratello's?

more casual, awesome burgers!! great menu. Fratellos is a bit more upscale.

another one that we like, great view of the lake is Lyon's Den, just down the street from Ellacoya Barn and Grill. It's a bit more upscale too though.

Save Tavern for when you are with folks that like tapas, lil plates to share.

If you don't mind the drive,(which is beautiful if you can go before dark) take Rt 3 to Rt 113 into Center Sandwich and go to The Corner House Inn. Not too far and worth the drive. We were up there last month and had a wonderful dinner. You can eat downstairs in the dining room or upstairs in the lounge. Excellent service, atmosphere, and food, and the prices were not bad. You can enjoy visiting with friends while you have a good dinner.

Absolutely by far my favorite restaurant in the Lakes Region!!! Just was thinking the Laconia area but you right, a nice drive.

Sounds great, but a bit of a drive from Laconia after a 6 hour car trip to get there. Thanks for all the suggestions.
