Best veggie friendly Italian

  • 5

What's the best veggie friendly Italian place in the area? I mean somewhere with more than pizza, pesto, and marinara sauce on the menu. Bonus points if it is a bit romantic, pricey is ok.

  1. just had an excellent all-vegetarian meal at Dino on Saturday. Started with some cheeses (FH loved the stinky cheese that came with a warning...ick!). Had the sunchokes and a salad, and then FH had the eggplant parm (much lighter than normal frield eggplant parm) and I opted for the pasta with marinara which I normally never do but it was so light and fresh. They have fish and meat choices as well.

i think it's romantic, but ask to sit in the grotto area and it's very quiet and away from the rush

    1. Bibiana near Metro Center in DC is quite romantic, and I rather like their food. Plenty of veggie dishes, and I have always been impressed by the waitstaff.

Agree on Bibiana. Also, Casa Nonna does an elegant family-style menu that has veggie options.

Bibiana is excellent as well (though I find it less romantic, but that might just be me!). If you go, the salted caramel gelato is amazing.

        2. I'm not a vegetarian myself but I know vegetarians that like Bibianna.

I also just took a veggie friend to Il Canale in Georgetown and she liked it very much...lots of stuff to choose from (including real Italian style pizza with lots of vegetable options).
