Polish stores near Trenton

On my way to the Trenton Farmers Market, I noticed a few Polish stores; like a bakery and maybe a meat market. I'm not Polish, but I mentioned this to a friend, who is. She'd like to take a ride up to pick up some things for her Polish born dad, who is ailing. I think she just wants to get him some comfort food. If any of you know of these places, can you comment? I just wanted to give her a little more information about what there is there before we take the ride up there. Any suggestions your have would be welcome as well for Polish items. Her dad is too sick (cancer) to travel to a restaurant, so my friend would prefer to get take away food or purchase what she needs to cook and bring it home. Thanks all.

  1. Honestly, there are people here who are more knowledgeable than I am, but that area is like a kind of "Little Eastern Europe" there. I assume you're talking about along Olden Avenue heading towards Ewing, right? I haven't been to any of those places, but my assumption would be that they're about as authentic as you can get.

      1. Brunswick Ave and N Olden Ave is the epicenter of the Trenton Little Poland district. Here you'll find Cosmo Food Market, Henry's Deli & Luncheonette and other Polish shops and eateries.

I used to go frequently to Henry's Deli for lunch when in the area. Yep, the older ladies/cooks behind the counter were a bit gruff, but the food was always fresh and filling. You gotta follow their system which is to order/pay at the counter then grab a seat. They also have a few racks of Polish groceries and other products.
