Best free Wine Event of the Year - Gordon's Annual Grand Tasting in Waltham

StriperGuy Oct 18, 2010 08:47 AM

I seldom seem to make it to this, mostly cause it is during the day on a Saturday... If it was at night I would be there in a flash.

This year they will be tasting more than 150 wines. I have no affiliation with the place whatsoever other than being a long time fan.

They really do put on an amazing tasting, with food nibbles, totally gratis, this year it is on Saturday 10/30/2010 from 1:00 - 5:00pm:

Gordon's Fine Wines and Liquors
894 Main St
Waltham, MA
(781) 893-1900

Thanks for the note - will try to check it out.
On one other note, your go-to party dish is really too funny...

Forgot about that. Your comment made me update my profile a bit. So hard to get Ortolan these days...

Does it tend to be very crowded?

It will be very crowded. Leave your coat in the car. Ideally, bring a tall friend who can help you get pours. I hope they've established a way to buy your wine like they have for the big tastings at Yankee: I've been known to stash my selections under the table of a friendly rep until I am ready to depart. I usually leave with a case or two.

Hmmmm. I always have trouble deciding whether my interest in events like this is stronger than my aversion to crowds. Good tips.
