Budget-Friendly Rehearsal Dinner Spot for under $60 per person

Hi All!
I'm planning my rehearsal dinner and need ideas and recommendations for places with good food, that are budget friendly. Our dinner will be for around 40 people, but we have a very limited budget. I'm looking for a place that can accommodate us for dinner on a Thursday night (on January 6th) for around $60 per person including alcohol (house wine or pitchers of sangria will be fine...we don't need open bar or cocktails). Ideally, something on the East side would be best as that is where the hotel is (our wedding is at the metropolitan building in LIC so the guests are staying in Midtown East), but if you have other ideas in other parts of the city, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for your help!

  1. Pera and Osteria del Circo both have very reasonably priced banquet menus. Both would give you a part of the main dining room so it wouldnt be totally private but you'd all be grouped together. I booked an event recently through dineprivate.com- they had a lot of restaurants on there to look through- might help.

oh thanks for the dineprivate recommendation! I'll check those two places out and see what else they have on that site.

    2. Jane on Houston St (I think between LaGuardia and Thompson) has a private dining room downstairs that I recently went to a bridal shower at. No idea how much it cost, but I've been to the restaurant for dinner before and it's pretty reasonably priced.

      1. I posted this a while ago, but just figured in case anyone else is looking, I ended up hosting our party at Brasserie Cognac and it was wonderful!
