Where can I get ground lamb in Stamford? Stop and shop in Ridgeway shopping center says they sometimes have it. Is there any store in Stamford that always carries ground lamb? Organic would be even better. TIA. Can't wait for Fairway!

Shop Rite of Commerce Park (Exit 6) regularly carries it. If you don't see it - just ask at the butcher counter.

Some of the best lamb money can buy can be bought at the Greenwich and Westport Farmers Markets from Sankow's Beaver Brook Farm. Their lamb is naturally and humanly raised.

+1 (except I buy from them in New Haven). Good, tasty stuff from nice people.

Palmer's and Whole Foods, both in Darien, usually have ground lamb.

Thanks everyone. I ended up getting it from Whole foods in Darien. I'll check out those other locations next time I need some ground lamb. I wonder if Sankow's Beaver Brook Farm participates in the Stamford Farmer's markets?

i was looking for this too to make a lamb ragu...and after going to 3 grocery stores, in a fit of desperation i decided to buy lamb sholder, cut off the bones and big lumps of fat, cut into chunks then ground it in my mini cuisinart..came out perfectly!!!

missmar: I almost always grind my own meat because then I know what is in it!
