Olive Oil Storage Q

I recently acquired 5L of olive oil from an olive oil factory. It came in a translucent plastic jug. A plastic jug that is too large for my cupboard. Is olive oil light sensitive? It should be stored in the dark, right?

Olive oil should be stored in a cool dark cupboard and it should definitely not be stored in plastic. Transfer to glass or stainless steel containers, and seal tightly. Light , heat and exposure to air are what cause oil to deteriorate. So use small enough containers so you can fill them completely. If using glass, dark glass is preferable to hinder light penetration.

Everything you say is right, except not even normal dark glass is sufficient. Any container that isn't perfectly opaque should be wrapped in aluminum foil or a cloth or something to block all light.
