what's near Mr and Mrs. Miscellaneous?

SF Chowhounds,
I am going to the Treasure Island festival this weekend, but Monday is walk around and try awesome food day. I saw a recent article in the WSJ on Misc. and decided I have to go! But is anything awesome nearby? I definitely plan on hitting the Ferry bldg and Blue Bottle as well.
Thanks!

I was going to suggest a walkabout in the Mission but there is a fair chance that you can do that in Austin. But if you do, lose the hat.

      Try the burger at Serpentine.

The Serpentine burger was more bun than patty when I ordered it a few weeks ago, but perhaps I was spoiled since I had tried the burger at NOPA a week before that visit. Otherwise, Piccino for individual pizzas is a block away from Mr. and Mrs. Misc. Yield Wine Bar also has good snacks.

Interesting, I've had it a couple times and never noticed that. It's Jon Kauffman's favorite.

Check your timing. Mr Mrs Miscellaneous closes at 6pm, serpentine opens at 6pm. At least on some days. I timed myself for Mr Mrs Miscellaneous at 5:55pm. BUT - they were out of a huge number of flavors. Maybe at lunch there's more overlap.

I had an average but quite nice meal at Serpentine, but given I'm a huge fanboi, I'm going to stop recommending them until I have a more positive experience.
