FoodChic Oct 14, 2010 08:09 PM

Menus came out and I've made three reservations already. Some real duds in there, but definitely some good ones, too.

I'm taking my 25 year old daughter to New Orleans in December for a weekend girlie getaway. It will be her first time there and maybe about 15 years since I've been, we are so excited to go to the REVEILLON Dinners!! We are reserved at Commander's Palace on Saturday night but need a recommendation for a fabulous place on Friday night. We are staying in the French Quarter and will not have a car. Maybe something hip and contemporary? Thanks!

      It's all through December.

The addition of Galatoire's is interesting. I don't remember them being involved in the past, but of course I could be wrong.

I cannot pull it up for some reason. Galatoire's never used to particpate or, if they did, I wasn't paying any attention. Our holiday meal there is as usual

On secodn thought, I recall seeing little yellow-ish cards that might have been a reveillon thing-y. The whole Restaurant Reveillon business is recent by my standards (How long have the tourist people been pushing this? Twenty years or so?) and I just never bother with it. Nothing pro-or-con s'far as I am concerned

Yeah, I should have been more specific - I meant I don't recall their participating in the tourist board list of Reveillon menus.

Couldn't speak to that....but they do get nice n' festive with teh little boughs around the top of the mirrors and so forth. I, myself, have been known to wear a Santa hat (briefly).

I simply like the option of multiple prix fixe menus so close to Christmas.
It will grant us the opportunity to take in the festivites and eat well without breaking the bank.

I'm especially looking forward to Brigtsen's menu.

Are the reveillon menus generally available throughout December or just around Christmas?
