getting romantic in metro west?

hello all, I'm planning a birthday dinner for the SO. metro west is much easier for us, esp on a friday night -- is there anything remotely romantic or food-sensual in those environs??

Cafe Mangal in Wellesley has a warm atmosphere and delicious, sensual food. (It's mainly Turkish). It's also BYOB, so if you drink wine, you can bring that special bottle you've been saving.

Food-sensual - that reminds me of that SNL skit where the "lovahs" eat chicken in a hot tub.

Another vote for Allora Ristorante in Marlborough. If you can get lucky and get a warm night. There outdoor deck has a great view of lake Williams. Very romantic.

Maxwell's 148 @ 148 East Central Street (Route 135) in Natick just over the Wellesley line.

Not super romantic in atmosphere, but there aren't too many places more "food sensual" than the Sichuan Gourmet in Framingham.

Ariadne in Newton has a really nice, kind of gaudy ambiance, and the food is quite good.

Ariadne is now closed. I just drove by the other day. It is now called C.Tsar's, and looked like they were still working on the outside. Don't know if it is open yet.

Not exactly Metrowest, but the Davio's in Patriot's Place, Foxboro has the same, somewhat romantic vibe as the one in Boston, but without parking hassles or traffic.

A pet peeve of mine, but none of those towns are in metrowest. MW is out closer to 495, Framingham, Southborough, Westborough etc.

I would put a vote in for Tomassos in Southborough.

Stone's has a romantic history, but the food just isn't that good. My husband is always trying to drag me there because he loves the atmosphere (and the beer), but I have never had a chow-worthy meal there.

I'm kidding. :-) I can think of a few, including Allora Ristorante in Marlborough, Cafe Mangal in Wellesley, and slightly closer to Boston (and a bit more northwest), AKA Bistro in Lincoln.
