Fat Taco

I was walking back from Spice Kit from lunch and noticed this place at the dance club at 525 Howard

Might not be much of anything in the end, but there isn't exactly a wide selection of places in that nabe so I thought I'd point it out. According to Yelp, they just opened up last week.

  1. This is my absolute favorite burrito spot in the neighborhood around my office. The taco truck just behind our building isn't great (at least not for veggie stuff), and Maya can be too fancy/expensive. Here the made-to-order veggie burrito has nice crunchy bell peppers and good rice, though it could use some spice. (But they always have freshly made salsas to choose from. And the chips are freshly made too.) They've also got tacos, quesadillas, and tamales, as well as yucca fries and fried plantains (these are yum). I've been back several times. It's odd to have to walk through the club and across the dance floor to order your food, but it's worth it. Staff is very friendly too.

    1. I also saw this walking from Spice Kit (which had terribly un-balanced flavors in the Banh Mi. skip), but decided to stop in and get a spicy pork taco.

I was thinking al pastor, but it was a shredded pork with hot sauce. Generous amount of meat (indeed Fat), but the hot sauce was the only thing I could taste. It was tender and juicy, but overall disappointing.
