Katsuobushi- do any retailers carry it in vancouver

ume Oct 14, 2010 02:46 AM

Hi - I have recently gotten a kezuriki and want to know if any retailers in Vancouver carry dried katsuobushi - dried shaved skipjack tuna to make dashi stock. I have not been able to find any retailers but if somebody could forward to anything online it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Angel Seafoods normally has katsuobushi available which is already preshaved. But I imagine if you call them you may be able to arrange for the whole chunk so you can use your kezuriki and do it yourself. They do all sorts of custom orders. Details: http://www.angelseafoods.com/
