Tasting Menu in Vegas...on a Sunday?

Hi all,

My husband and I will be in Vegas this weekend for our anniversary, and we'd love to do a great tasting menu but a few restaurants that you all have been raving about aren't open on Sunday!

We've eaten at Joel Robuchon in London, and it was one of our favorite meals ever & were thinking of going there, but $385 a person, without drinks etc. just seems ridiculous as does $290 at Guy Savoy. Seen the raves for the Raku but we are going to Tokyo/Yokohama for 11 days next month plus it doesn't seem as "anniversary-ish." However, we could change our minds about these restaurants if you think we'd be doing ourselves a dis-service by dismissing them! Or is there a lower price tasting menu that I am missing? Ideally we'd like more than an appetizer, main & dessert.

Can anyone make another suggestion? We are staying at the Four Seasons, if that matters. We've also previously been to Alex (Chef's table,) Michael Mina, Aureole, and Border Grill (we live in LA.) Mix is open on Sunday..how is that?

Also, we have 2 reservations for Saturday evening. One at Charlie Palmers and one at Sage. Which one should we keep and which should we cancel? Ideally I'd love to do one on Sunday but both are closed!

Thank you so much for any help! It's been great reading all your posts.

  1. I so agree with your comments! On our last trip to Vegas we dined at Alex because Robuchon seemed so expensive! We are wondering how much it would realistically cost to get in and out of there?

We dined at Alex instead. We liked it there were some standout dishes but felt it wasn't the best value (dinner still cost $1000) and on top of that I don't like to be so "rushed". At one point I had to tell them to slow down.

I would like to know how you would compare Michael Mina and Aureole?

I have also seriously considered Mix. I'm also tossing up Bartolottias or Mario Batallis.

We really liked Bobby Flay's Mesa grill.

Let me know how it turns out. We are back in April. Can't wait to hear.

    1. Do a shorter tasting at Robuchon - or consider Twist.

Ranking the "best of" in Vegas, in my honest opinion, based on total "experience" (food, service, room, intangibles.)

      Robuchon,
      Twist,
      Savoy,
      Sage,
      L'Atelier,
      Picasso,
      Le Cirque,
      Alex,
      Mix
