Care of a white porcelain sink
Hello all -- With my new kitchen came a farmhouse-style white porcelain sink. After washing some pots this morning, I noticed a black mark on the sink. Any way to remove that mark? How best to care for this sink? It looks gorgeous but I'd prefer functionality over aesthetics... thanks!

A gentle scrub with a nylon scourer will remove those little grey dinks from metal pots. Also I find a weekly splash of bleach carefully brushed all round the interior, and left for about ten minutes before rinsing, really brings up the whiteness. This also keeps the bacteria at bay, and cleans the pot brush too.
Actually, I don't think I've seen bleach mentioned on CH hygene threads before. Is it a bit of a UK thing? BKF is not commonly used over here.

My mother had a porcelain sink and she had Rubbermaid sink mats in the bottom and on the divider between the two sides (double sink). If they got a little messy, she just put them in the dishwasher, top rack and tended to remove them after the rinse cycle. I don't know if they would melt or not, she chose not to find out.
