If you happen to be Joyce from Joyce & Family in Fuquay-Varina, I will seriously pay you some dough to teach me how to cook like that. I'm out in California now and need to do it myself!

I would also add that for a price you could get a Thanksgiving "kit" from the likes of Foster's Market.

I have had Thanksgiving at Margaux's twice, and both times its been delicious.

Margaux's is my family's restuarant of choice for any special occasion, and the menu is always different; unique but delicious. Margaux's has a great upscale atmosphere. Hope you decide on a great place for your Thanksgiving meal!

Why don't you look into the Vegan/Vegetarian Thanksgiving that goes on in Durham. It is usually a big hit and something different.

Personally, I have really enjoyed The Angus Barn for Thanksgiving, but not sure if they still have tables available--it tends to book really quickly. But it's a big buffet spread, decent food, really festive and fun.

There are two restaurants not on meatn3's link that were my go-to places for Thanksgiving Day in the Triangle. One is The Old Place in Bear Creek, NC (about 40 miles west of the Triangle). It's a country cooking buffet place on a farm. Excellent, excellent meats (turkey, stuffing, chicken&dumplings, fried chicken, ham) and a nice spread of country veggies too (I particularly like the yams and cracklin' cornbread) and great desserts (the apple crisp is superb). It's all homemade, unlike many other buffets. The price runs the normal $12.95/person for all-you-can-eat.

Another exquisite place that usually does Thanksgiving is the Yancey House Restaurant in Yanceyville, NC (about an hour NW of Raleigh). It's in a historic home on 150 acres. It's a true farm-to-table restaurant celebrating what's local. They grow many of the veggies they use in the restaurant. The owners (husband + wife team) are absolute gems. Chef Lucindy won "Best Dish in NC" last year.

Wow, Mike, this is really interesting. We used to drive through Yancyville all the time, and I never had a clue there was anywhere worth going there (sorry Yanceyville). We'll have to check it out sometime. Thanks so much.

Well not exactly in the area you suggested but Siler City's Celebrity Dairy is doing a Thanksgiving meal (would have to double check if the date is actually Thanksgiving), but I believe it is $50 a person. I'll give you more info later or you can contact them yourselves. Not sure if Elodie which is in Bahama/Rougemont would have anything.

Here is a link to the list of Thanksgiving options put out by the N & O for last year:

                          http://www.newsobserver.com/2009/11/2...

This is a good starting point for The Triangle.
