By real apple cider, I presume you mean unpasteurized cider. You can't find it in major markets due to FDA regulations that require pasteurization or other proven approaches be used to significantly reduce the risk from e. coli. Sales from producers directly to consumers (e.g. farmstands, juice bars) are exempted.

Most of the apples in Julian are shipped in, not grown there.

Trader Joe's carries a cider this time of year. I saw it mentioned in the Fearless Flyer online today.
Last year I saw some Martinelli's cider (and regular) on sale at Bristol Farms, Henry's and Whole Foods. Should be coming in any day now.
Areas that have apple orchards have local cider in the local grocery stores. That isn't San Diego County.
