Like Spiritchaser, I have not been to S F, but I really enjoy SD26, having there many times. Aside from the impeccable salumi and cheeses, the dishes are available in small or large sizes, allowing for more sampling We basically put together our own tasting menus. Nice wine list too, with lots of reasonably priced selections.

This won't be any help becaues I have not been to S F so I can't make a heads up[ comparison but the few times we've been to SD26 we completely enjoyed everything we tried. Their salumi and cheese selections are really nice and fun to share amongst the table, The entrees were all enjoyable as well.
