Chocolatier in the MidWest who Now Makes Caramel - moved from Home Cooking board

The other day my husband mentioned a famous chocolatier in the Mid-West who now makes caramels that he wanted to try. The gift bell went off in my head. Problem is, I don't know who this chocolatier is. And internet searching has not solved the puzzle.

Anyone know?
