Jules - new Double Chocolate croissant
My wife picked up a few of Jules' new double chocolate croissant. In addition to the double-row of chocolate core, they now mix their delicious chocolate into the batter. It's also topped with some icing sugar. We tried some and while it's definitely more chocolately, I still prefer the regular pain chocolate (I like the contrast between core and croissant). But for those serious chocolate croissant lovers out there, you can give a try if you're in the area.
I agree. In theory, it seemed very exciting. But when I tried it, I found that I definitely prefer the traditional chocolate croissant. The pastry tastes much better without the injection of chocolate, IMHO.
O&B Canteen on King makes one of these too, with Soma chocolate. I have to agree with torontofoodiegirl though, I actually prefer regular chocolate croissants.
