I regret to report that the Main Street Grill has not got its act together yet. I was hoping that after the tourists left town and things got quieter that the Grill would upgrade its waitstaff. My latest visit was yet another disappointment. I had high hopes because they obviously have talented staff in the kitchen, but the front of the house is quite amateurish. If you want a burger and fries or a bowl of mussels you should stand in line and wait for a table at Toby's. The waitresses may give you a bit of attitude but they can tell you precisely what their products are and they will get it to your table while it is still hot - not the case at Front Street Grill. If you are looking for an upscale meal, head to Christopher's where professional waitstaff will make your dinner a pleasure.

I hope the Grill gets serious and hires a manager who knows how to train staff because I've had a couple of excellent dinners there but I won't put up with lackluster service when i have other readily available alternatives.

  1. We were in Coupeville the end of May and loved our casual meal at Mosquito Fleet Chili Co. Very, very fresh food and seriously the most friendly service we've ever had in a restaurant in this area. :)

Yes, Julie and husband are two of the friendliest people you will ever run across. Their food is definitely home-made, fresh and tasty.

I have to concur with the Mosquito Fleet comments - really excellent mussel chowder. Also had dinner at the Oystercatcher, which I felt was not as good as a previous visit. Also disturbingly empty. Is it in danger?
