Blue and White Diner in Tunica MS

Per a suggestion on Chowhound I had breakfast at the Blue and White. A donut (I really like their glazed donut. It was so sweet I could only eat one). I followed this appetizer with a side order of eggs and a side order of biscuits. Breakfast was under $4. I give this place a double yum!
The customer next to me at the counter ordered one of the breakfast plates. He did not want one the items included. The server asked him if he wanted to substitute an egg. To my surprise he declined. How many places will let you make a free substitution. If for no other reason this place is a must if you are in the area.

  1. Professor, glad you had a good experience at breakfast, which may likely be a whole different experience than lunch.

I've had lunch there once (and will not go back) which was pretty bad. One of my party had the steamtable, which was predictably steamtable lackluster, and another ordered off the menu which was none the better.

Even worse was the situation we unfortunately witnessed whereby a patron at a table not far from ours verbally berated a waitress for not giving him the "special" pricing that he always got from another waitress, repeatedly asked to speak to a manager (this went on for over a half hour) who was too chicken, on a slow day, to come out and clear things up, and it all ended with my husband giving the waitress, who was in tears by the time we were ready to leave, a $20, telling her no one should ever be treated like that, by customers and managers.

She was so in shock she didn't know what to say.

    1. this place has been serving great food for a LONG time!

      1. Their breakfast is legendary with hunters everywhere. Classic spot.
