Hello everyone. I am throwing a surprise 30th birthday party. I am looking to find a restaurant/bar/club in which we can rent out a private room. Its for about 40 guests. Im mainly interested in an open bar and appetizers. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

Any locale in particular? Friends had their wedding at Spasso in Old City and that was nice. They had an open bar and apps and then we sat for dinner.

I've heard that the upstairs room of Chick's is nice. I've been to private parties upstairs and downstairs at Black Sheep Pub that worked well. I've also heard that Pub & Kitchen will rent out their upstairs room.

I planned a birthday party at the restaurant on the first floor of Cira Centre, Rae, in 2007. It went flawlessly. However, I understand Rae is no longer there. Does anyone know what replaced it (I don't live in Phila.)?

The building is right near 30th Street Station, at 2929 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19104. A lot of people took the train from NY and DC, so this was a great location.

North Bowl, a nice bowling alley in Northern Liberties, does group packages with open bar and appetizers.

Great American Pub in Conshohocken always has some type of private event going on at their bar/restaurant. Very big (3 floors of bar area and a banquet hall on 4th floor) and very easy to get to.
