Truffles in a jar: how to use?

I just went looking for some truffle oil, but all they had was these olive oils with "aroma of truffles," which I know is complete bunk. But they DID have a tiny jar of actual sliced black truffles packed in cornflower oil.

Trouble is, I only need the oil, not the actual truffles. Can I just transfer the tiny jar of truffles to a big jar, put olive oil in it, and infuse the olive oil?

Second thought was to put them in a small blender with olive oil and just whiz them. I know I'd have to refrigerate it, but does anyone have any thoughts? It was actually quite cheap for $24 but I'd like it to last.

oh man, what a tough problem to have! it really won't last very long. why don't you just use it? invite people over for softly scrambled eggs with shavings of truffle, or mixed in with hot pasta and olive oil. Also, i have heard you can put it in a jar of uncooked rice, and that may keep it longer than in oil, and also flavors your rice. Just do a google search for keeping fresh truffles.

edit: ok, this link sort of says the opposite of what i said, but then again it sort of doesn't:
