Recommendations for Anniversary Dinner

Hey everyone, I recently stumbled upon chowhound, and it has been a great resource for me. I want to take my girlfriend out to a romantic dinner for our 4 year anniversary. High prices are ok because I ultimately care more about atmosphere/quality than price. Any and all recommendations for romantic and good restaurants are welcome. From my research so far I have come up with what seem to be the go-to romantic restaurants: the little door and il cielo. I've also read that Cliff's Edge in Silverlake is cool/romantic. If anybody can comment on these place or recommend others, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

thanks for the great and help recommendations, everyone. Right now, I think I may go with Ortolan, and save Saddle Peak Lodge for later (We will be going on a weeknight, and the Lodge is a decent drive, so I think it'd be better suited for a weekend dinner when we don't have anything to do the next day). Are there any other suggestions? Should I request the high-backed booths at Ortolan that someone mentioned? Thanks again.

While I also think Saddle Peak Lodge is very romantic and a solid choice, please consider the chef's table at Patina.

If it's reserved just for 2, it can be one of the most romantic of experiences.

Thumbs down on the food at Little Door and still down but a little less so for Cliff's Edge.
I agree that Saddle Peak fits the bill. It's a romantic and unique restaurant in the LA area, but it's out there quite a bit. Closer to home, Bastide has not failed me on my several dinners there with the newest incarnation.
The garden at the Chateau Marmont has all the romance you are looking for, but my last couple dinners there were far from good food. I haven't eaten there in a couple of years so maybe it's better now that Carolyn Spence is the chef?

If you would like a place that is both unique and romantic then you should give serious consideration to Saddle Peak Lodge in the Malibu hills.

Servorg hit this right on the head. My only qualification is that you get a downstairs table. It to me is the best room in the place.

Ortolan is very romantic with very good and sometimes excellent food. I think the other places you've mentioned are also romantic, but don't have as good of food as Ortolan.

A terrific suggestion--depending on the OP's mood, one of the four high-backed booths might be ideal.
