It's the chocolate cake and frosting part that turns me off when I think about it.

I like the idea of it -- a baker's version of the turducken -- but the execution, even with the finest components, would be vile. Turkey, duck and chicken can work well together. Pumpkin pie, apple pie, vanilla cake, chocolate cake, and Flying Monkey's tasteless "buttercream??" I'm not feelin' it.

I'm SOOO glad to see other folks who aren't fans of Flying Monkey.... When I moved here everyone raved about it + I was like - THIS is the best you've got? Thankfully it wasn't, but yeesh - the hype over this place -- not good. Glad to hear there's a new owner. May have to go back and try again.

It sounded like fun. It was either going to be amazingly good or amazingly bad. Well I think it was bad. I never liked the icing from the Flying Monkey. It seems to me to be a bit tasteless and lardy. The chocolate cake wasn't good and the vanilla cake was ok. The apple pie was ok and the pumpkin pie was a bit too spicey. All in all it was funny just to bring this home to the kids,, but I was disappointed.
