Recommend a place with ambience and charm in City Center to meet an old flame?

I'm meeting a old flame in Philly next week, and I'm looking for a intimate cafe or restaurant with ambience for a lunch and/or dinner near Center City. I'm staying in Rittenhouse Sq, but neighboring areas might be even better. Someplace with some charm, warmth, soft lighting, but not expensive. Just a sweet place, where we can talk, that has good food... but ambience is key...

Thanks!

I haven't been but Friday Saturday Sunday should fit the bill, there's also Tank Bar upstairs. Cosy, not too expensive and close by. If you hit it off, Ranstead Room or Franklin Mortgage and Investment Co for drinks later would work too.

Panorama is excellent, if you want closer/walkable, I would say Giorgio on Pine(13th and Pine).
Charming owner, low lighting, good food----it is a byo though. I'm going tonight and can't wait! Good luck!!

Panorama in Old City has the best atmosphere... the bar area (formerly the smoking section) is so intimate.. possibly romantic (if you want to rekindle that flame!). Very good pasta, great wine list, moderate prices.

I used the Warsaw Cafe for this kind of rendezvous:

I thought I read that the Warsaw Cafe closed or was closing?

IIRC they sold their liquor license, but are still open for the time being as a BYOB. OP would do well to call ahead to make sure, if he or she decides to go there.
