Need an affordable UWS resto for Sunday dinner with GF and her Aunt from Germany
My GF's aunt from Germany is visiting for one day and we are looking to go to a nice, affordable UWS resto near the American Museum of Natural History (79th and Columbus) in Sunday night. GF's aunt is very Euro/artsy/cosmopolitan, so doesn't need any of that vibe visiting NYC, which she has been to a handful of times (she's in the international contemporary art world). So I'm looking for something that's not scene-y, not loud, not college, not cheap diner/cheap Chinese. Looking for good food (oh, and the GF aunt doesn't like anything too hot or spicy), decent prices (no highway robbery), and maybe something that could be classic or almost-classic UWS NYC. GF aunt is an omnivore. Me and GF are vegetarian, but we are pretty good at finding something to eat from any menu (yes, I'll have the fries!). Me and GF are longtime downtown NYC denizens, so our UWS resto knowledge is extremely limited. I know that sounds like a lot of factors, but any recs would be greatly appreciated!

I do think the noise is a problem at Kefi if that's a peeve of hers. She might enjoy Nice-Matin, which has a conventional brasserie-type menu (along with the five-napkin burger!) and you could make a meal out of two or three vegetarian entrees (not just salads). But Nice-Matin can be quite noisy depending upon where you are sitting. Nonna is better on the noise scale, as is Bettola, which is just a couple of doors down from Nice Matin, and might have the best thin-crust pizza on the UWS (also love the farro salad).
Nonna is perfect for vegetarians, though. The vegetable antipasti and side dishes are winners. On Sunday night, they offer a special six-course dinner "from arancini to zeppole" that include the excellent meatballs for twenty bucks. As long as you go in not expecting life-changing food, it can be great fun.

Does Dovetail qualify as affordable (77th St. west of Columbus)? I think they have a Sunday night special.
If you walk up Columbus Ave to 84/85 St., you'll find 1) Kefi (good Greek, very inexpensive, but might be loud) 2) Nonna (Italian, with a Sunday night supper menu) or 3) Zeytin (Turkish). Kefi might have the best food of the 3.

Great suggestions! I have heard good things of Nonna, I think Italian could be the answer. Never heard of Dovetail, will do more Googling on that one. There are a lot of Turkish places in Germany, so probably not Zeytin, but will def check out the other recs -- thank you!!!!
