Sunday brunch suggestion near Zoo

NY foodies staying at the Omni Shoreham this weekend, near the zoo. This is rather last minute, but we'd like to get any recommendations for a good lunch or brunch place near the hotel, or something easily accessibly via the Metro for Sunday. Thanks!

  1. Weather should be gorgeous, so if you don't mind a 20 minute walk up Connecticut Ave (slightly uphill), Dino is a great place to go.

    1. Cashion's has an outstanding Sunday Brunch. Less than a mile. 10 to 15 minute walk. Take Calvert E to Columbia and take a right.

      Cashion's Eat Place @ 1819 Columbia Road NW, Washington, DC 202 - 797 - 1819.

I second Dino if you want Italian. Lots of people on this board recommend Cashion's Eat Place for brunch. I have only had brunch there once, but I thought it was ordinary and overpriced, with small portions. I wouldn't go back -- but as I say, a lot of people do like it, so I seem to be outvoted.

You said you wouldn't mind taking the Metro. If you take the Red Line from Woodley Park 3 stops to Metro Center, it's just a few blocks walk to Againn, which gets high marks for brunch. I have only had dinner there though (which was excellent), so I can't personally vouch for the brunch, but you can search the board for a lot of comments about it.
